happy birthday papa!

To celebrate Michael's birthday, we took a drive up to the mountain. Henry got his first glimpse and feel of the white stuff- and A got his first taste. No candles, no cake, no presents. Just us on the cold cold mountain. Hi-lar-i-us! Later, we went grocery shopping and then had pizza. Happy 39th My Sweet.

da doo run run run, da doo run run.

It was a very big day. Surfer Boy is gone. The Accounant is back. Aidan was a very good boy at Sandra's while he got his very first ever hair cut. He was even good while Michael and I got ours cut! Thank you Sandra you made this event so special! And thanks to Sammy for watching Henry while we were off on our big adventure!

a busy weekend, but full of fun!

It was the last day of Art Soup! Here are Vivian and Tabitha showing off their life-sized self portraits. This was a great project to finish up our class!

After teaching my family workshop, I saw an owl on campus!

Julie and John stopped by on their way to the beach (from IOWA) They had a good visit with the boys of the house. Shorty came too.

Ocho (as the monkey baby) checks out Aidan's hair before they get dressed for bed. I think he found some pancakes and some Freetos in there!

boo! boo.

The spooky pumpkins have gone the way of the recycling truck. Thanks Grandpa- they were great while they lasted!

it's all about the o

Ocho had a great day today! Yay- his cold is almost gone! The best thing (to mama) is that Monique and Jay are letting us borrow Victoria's old high chair. O is off the floor, intrigued by his new equality and his world has a whole new point of view! Thank you, thank you!

Grandma and Grandpa came over AND the howler monkey got kenneth cole jeans (from the resale shop) that actually give him a booty- celebrations all around! Check it out- I think this is what they mean when they say 'baby got back'.

Hen got a jumparoo today too! He bounces and river dances and sproings his time away with a happy face!

little drummer boy

A likes greetings. He also likes goodbyes, temporary glances, random meetings, bumping into strangers and practicing his hi's, hey's and hey there's. Here he is (height enhanced) greeting the dogs as they come inside from the rain- or was he waving to me as I change before heading off to Target? Perhaps Laura the mail lady dropped off our daily load of unrequested catalogs or Sammy came over for a visit... Regardless. A likes greetings. Next time you see him he'll probably smile, wave and clap to show ya he loves ya! Will someone please tell Castro to put on some pants?!

sick day play

Hey, day four of the cold from yucks-ville. Baybe I'b been inside too many days in a row, but these boys are making me laugh. Even though everyone is snotty and drooly and feverish and nobody wants to eat anything but snacks and the only way to make them laugh is for me to do hair monster or dance around to the beachboys while my head is pounding, these kids are still worth it. Today we played dress up with jewelry and hair clips- though Aidan doesn't look too convinced about how pretty he is and Hen loved having his turn at being the new sheriff in town and we watched baby porn (this is not like adult porn- it is DVR-lands version of crack for the under two set. You select a 7 minute video segment and it's crazy. The music comes on and the color is announced and A just sits down and watches the blasted thing. No Batman vs. Penguin, no Greatest American Hero, Daniel Boone or A-Team- just the color and the dancing bear that he insists on calling 'cat cat'. Fun times, fun times. PS Our 'Lo is a good and patient boy.

baby oh baby he rocks the vote!

A and I went to our local polling station.... uuuhhhmmm, sorry, that was a place from my dreams sneaking in there. OK A and I went to the library parking lot tonight. Yep that's more like it. Because Oregon STINKS at voting. You have to mail your ballot. The closest thing we have to a real voting booth is to actually hold your vote to the last minute, drive to a parking lot and hand your vote (in a double envelope) to a person wearing a reflective vest. In my opinion, that stinks. There is no community, no time honored tradition, no signing your legal signature on a vet's clipboard under the flag surrounded by the smell of burnt coffee. There are no little half booths with curtains, no peg punch outs, no guys asking you how your folks are.... Well, anyway, Aidan won't remember his first stint at voting with his mom- but we got out of the car, put the envelopes in the box ourselves- and Aidan gave the official blue voting box a good pounding- and we met two nice ladies wearing reflective vests- eating sushi. Happy November.

smoothies- yum!

Sara and Carly and Sammy came over for a morning vist. They brought pumpkin muffins (thanks Steph!) and the smoothies they were working on. Sara gave Lo lots of attention and it turns out Aidan likes smoothies as much as the girls do!

goodnight sweetheart- yeah- it's time to go.....

If I wear these ears and smile for the camera- they won't make me go to bed!

Hanging on and being cute...

Gone baby gone- check it out his booty is saying Hi!

mahjongadidngdong 2

It seems I am always taking pics as we leave our event... Well, the boys had a good time playing and eating and playing and Mary got mah jong! And Shoey was great and A didn't break anything. I think we lost a sucky, but it's bound to turn up!

documenting the roll

Arlo and I watched Henry roll and roll! What a fun morning of progress.

froggy went a courtin' on halloween

Grandpa (as the Frog Prince) brings over jack o' lanterns and smiles for the boys.

Aidan keeps a lookout for the Great Pumpkin...
He got a tooth and took 5 steps today!

Henry as Roy- in all his glory!

Uncle Sean tells the tigers they better behave! Sigfried and Roy offer Uncle Sean their candy- they even got toys and yogurt (that they can eat! Thank you Sammy, Steph and Oty!) along with a little candy. No naps and new teeth made this Halloween a little trying, but the costumes and Tigers made up for it! Hope everyone had a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!
