my sweet, slurry, bucket o' kids

These guys are being super sweet. All Aidan wants to do is "Go?- GO!" We are going to the beach with Jennifer as soon as she returns from her trials in MO. We picked up a few plastic (big surprise) toys to take with us. Now A picks up his bucket or scoop and says "Go?" Do babies understand "Soon!" ? (UM, the answer to that is no.) The other favorites right now are "caw-caw" and howler monkey calls and "woof woof". They both try to do the elephant call- but it sounds like "pfffht!" Cows say "mmm" at our house and kitty kitties say "mow" (as in rhymes with how).
Henry, well, Henry walks across the room now, falls and splits his lip, climbs into his birthday chair and wrestles Aidan for ownership of the big cardboard box I had intended to use to ship things to Libby. Grandpa (Bappa) got down and dirty and stole their little kiddy condo right out from under their little piggies!
We've started using cloth all in one diapers- better late than never. They're so easy and pretty too! We're using Thirsties and Bum Genius. The best bit is no more guilt surrounding 500 years in a landfill! Here are our little models exhibiting said diapers as well as Henry's newly acquired climbing skills demo.

Michael holding A in his lap as thunder rattles our whole house and lightning breaks the darkness surrounding all of western Oregon.

A got to hear stories about Iowa storms and the porch at his grandparent's place. So sweet!

One thing I didn't get a shot of this week.... I put the boys in one of those dreaded (giant car) shopping carts. We three were at Home Depot and my plants kept tipping over under the basket (holding Aidan, his blanket and his toys)- when we got inside, I saw a monstrous orange shopping cart decorated with what I can only assume were nascar stickers. Fortunately, it came complete with two steering wheels (and two seatbelts)- so I switched gears and 'drove' them around the outdoor plants for like half an hour. My plants were safe and there was a nice place for the diaper bag. Boo- I suppose I'll have to do that again sometime. Maybe you'll get my picture of shame with trip #2.
For now, here's our first dinner outside this year!
